The 16th annual Melon Music Awards took place at Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea on November 30th, 2024. The ceremony honors the achievements of artists across multiple categories in the music industry. The awards were determined by Melon’s digital sales and streaming, along with online voting and judges’ evaluation.
Aespa took home the most prestigious awards of the evening, winning Album of the Year (Daesang) for Armageddon and Song of the Year (Daesang) for their hit single “Supernova.” Aespa also secured Best Performance – Female, highlighting their strong presence in K-pop.
(G)I-dle had a remarkable night as well, winning Artist of the Year (Daesang) and Record of the Year (Daesang).
In the solo categories, Jungkook took home the Best Male Solo award, while IU claimed Best Female Solo and Stage of the Year for her IU HEREH World Tour, demonstrating her ongoing influence and success in the industry.
Riize made a splash with New Artist of the Year, as well as the Kakao Bank Everyone’s Star award, marking a strong debut in the K-pop scene.
Other notable winners included Bibi for Best Music Style, Ateez as Global Artist, and Ive for Music Video of the Year with “Heya.”
