‘The Remarkable Life of Ibelin’ Shows How One World of Warcraft Player’s Life Touched a Global Community

Netflix released the trailer for ‘The Remarkable Life of Ibelin’, which looks at the life of one World of Warcraft player through the friends and people he connected with in the game.

Synopsis: When Mats Steen, a Norwegian gamer with a degenerative muscular disease, died at age 25, his parents mourned what they thought had been an isolated life. But when they started receiving an outpouring of messages from his World of Warcraft community, they discovered the remarkable life of Ibelin.

‘The Remarkable Life of Ibelin’ is told by documentarian filmmaker Benjamin Ree, who used interviews with Ibelin’s friends, connections, along with Ibelin’s own archives to tell the story of his life.

‘The Remarkable Life of Ibelin’ premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, and it will be released on streaming on September 16th.
