On August 21st, Netflix released a sneak peek at Season 2 of the critically acclaimed animated series Blue Eye Samurai, which follows young warrior Mizu on a quest for vengeance.
Netflix announced that Season 2 is currently in production and will continue to feature the titular hero as they pursue justice.
The series had previously been renewed in December 2023.
Maya Erskine returns as Mizu, alongside returning cast member Kenneth Branagh as Abijah Fowler.
The voice cast also includes George Takei (Seki), Masi Oka (Ringo), Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (The Swordmaker), Brenda Song (Akemi), Darren Barnet (Taigen), and Randall Park (Heiji Shindo). Supporting cast members include Stephanie Hsu (Ise), Ming-Na Wen (Madame Kaji), Harry Shum Jr. (Takayoshi), and Mark Dacascos (Chiaki), among others.
Executive producers include creators Noizumi and Green, with Erwin Stoff serving as executive producer and Jane Wu as supervising director and producer. Blue Spirit is the animation studio behind the series.
