Daniel Craig’s detective Benoit Blanc is back — and this time, he’s joining a true “murderer’s row” of castmates. The newly released teaser for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery introduces a stacked ensemble featuring Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church. Together, they set the stage for Rian Johnson’s latest whodunit, which promises to be Blanc’s most chilling case yet.
What We Know From the Teaser
Like its predecessors, Wake Up Dead Man blends a striking setting with a cast of quirky yet enigmatic characters. This third film in Johnson’s trilogy follows Knives Out (2019) and Glass Onion (2022), continuing Netflix’s high-profile partnership with the writer-director.
The teaser reveals that the mystery unfolds in a small church in upstate New York. There, a goodhearted young priest, Jud Duplenticy (Josh O’Connor), arrives to assist the charismatic Monsignor Jefferson Wicks (Josh Brolin). Their congregation is a mix of suspiciously colorful figures, including:
-
Martha Delacroix (Glenn Close), a devoted church lady
-
Samson Holt (Thomas Haden Church), the groundskeeper
-
Vera Draven (Kerry Washington), a tightly wound lawyer
-
Cy Draven (Daryl McCormack), an aspiring politician
-
Dr. Nat Sharp (Jeremy Renner), the town doctor
-
Lee Ross (Andrew Scott), a bestselling author
-
Simone Vivane (Cailee Spaeny), a concert cellist
When an unholy murder shakes the parish, local police chief Geraldine Scott (Mila Kunis) calls in Blanc to help unravel a case “that defies all logic.”
Release Date
As with Glass Onion, Wake Up Dead Man will have a limited theatrical run before its streaming debut. The film hits select theaters on November 26, 2025, and arrives on Netflix December 12, 2025.
