HBO Max Asia Unveils Trailer for New Korean Drama ‘Dear X,’ Premiering November 6

HBO MAX

HBO Max Asia has released the first trailer for Dear X, a gripping new Korean melodrama that dives into the price of fame and the duality of stardom. The series stars Kim Yoo-jung (Lovers of the Red Sky, Chicken Nugget) as Baek Ah-jin, a celebrated actress whose ruthless pursuit of success threatens to unravel not only her public image but also her own sense of self.

Synopsis: Dear X follows Baek Ah-jin, a beloved actress whose outward charm conceals deep resentment and manipulation. As she ascends the ranks of celebrity, her ambition comes with devastating costs, forcing her to confront the darker side of fame.

Dear X is part of the first wave of high-profile K-Dramas arriving on HBO Max through a new partnership between Warner Bros. Discovery, CJ ENM, and TVING—a collaboration designed to expand the reach of Korean storytelling to global audiences. More original Korean series from this partnership will join HBO Max in early 2026.

Based on the popular Naver Webtoon by Vanziun, Dear X was written by Choi Ja-won (winner of the 2018 KBS One-Act Drama Script Contest) and co-directed by Lee Eung-bok (Descendants of the Sun, Sweet Home) and Park So-hyun. The project was planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Monster Union and Siwoo Company, and distributed by TVING.

Alongside Kim, the series also stars Kim Young-dae, Kim Do-hoon, and Lee Yul-eum, with Hwang In-youp making a special appearance.

Dear X will premiere November 6, 2025, on both HBO Max and TVING.
