Apple TV+’s ‘Hijack’ Returns for a High-Stakes Ride Through Berlin

Emmy Award nominee Idris Elba returns for the second season of “Hijack,” premiering globally on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 on Apple TV.

Apple TV+ has unveiled the first look at the highly anticipated second season of Hijack, starring and executive produced by Idris Elba. The new season follows Elba’s character, Sam Nelson — a world-class negotiator with a knack for finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time — as he faces yet another intense hostage crisis. This time, the drama unfolds aboard an underground train in Berlin, where Sam must once again use his skills to protect innocent lives as authorities race to respond.

Season two of Hijack will premiere globally on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, exclusively on Apple TV+.

Produced by 60Forty Films and Idiotlamp Productions, the new season is executive produced by Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, and Tom Nash for 60Forty Films, alongside George Kay and Jim Field Smith for Idiotlamp Productions. Field Smith also returns as lead director.

The season reunites Elba — who received an Emmy nomination for his performance in season one — with returning cast members Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi, while adding several new faces to the ensemble, including Christian Näthe (Ballon), Clare-Hope Ashitey (Seven Seconds), Lisa Vicari (Dark), Toby Jones (Mr Bates vs The Post Office), Karima McAdams (Dune: Prophecy), and Christiane Paul (FBI: International).
