Idris Elba returns to the role of Luther in a new film titled Luther: the Fallen Sun, according to a new announcement from Netflix. Luther, a 5 season TV series produced by the BBC starting in 2010, aired its last season in 2019.
In Luther: The Fallen Sun, Elba’s titular character faces off of against a sadistic serial killer in London, as the killer continues to taunt and evade him. Andy Serkis, Cynthia Erivo, will co-star, alongside returning actor Dermot Crowley who will reprise his role of DCI Martin Schenk.
Netflix will begin streaming the film on March 10th, following a limited theatrical releases on February 24.
