Aniplex released the trailer for City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust on February 21, 2023. The movie is set to be released in Japan in Fall 2023.
City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust’s official synopsis: “The story is set in modern Tokyo and approaches the core of Ryo Saeba’s past and the death of his partner, Hideyuki Makimura. “City Hunter” enters a new phase with this work, which bears the title of “Angel Dust”, which has an important role in the original. Ryo with a wound drawn by Tsukasa Hojo in the key visual, what is in front of the line of sight…? !”
City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust will be directed by Kenji Kodama, who previously directed City Hunter: Shinjuku Private Eyes as well as all 51 of the City Hunter episodes from the original City Hunter anime that ran from 1987-88. Yasuyuki Muto has written the screenplay for the new film. The movie is an adaptation of the original City Hunter Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tsukasa Hojo.
City Hunter The Movie: Angel Dust will feature the voice cast of: Ryo Saeba as Akira Kamiya, Kaori Makimura as Kazue Ikura, Saeko Nogami as Harumi Ichiryusai, Umibozu as Tessho Genda, and Miki as Mami Koyama. TM NETWORK contributed theme music for the ending of the film with their song “Get Wild”.
