Hader’s Hitman with a Love of Theatre to End with Season 4

Bill Hader, star and co-creator of HBO’s ‘Barry’, alongside Alec Berg, revealed to Variety in an exclusive interview that ‘Barry’ would wrap up with its 4th season being the last. Variety also revealed the official first season 4 teaser trailer, which will begin airing on April 16.

Hader cited the time during the pandemic writing the show’s third and fourth seasons as the moment they realized the ending to Barry was beginning to form naturally.

Hader’s series ‘Barry’ began in 2016, with the unusual conceit of a hitman who became fascinated with acting and joined a community theatre class taught by Gene Cousineau played by Henry Winkler.

Barry received 44 Primetime Emmy Award nominations with two wins for Hader in Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series, and noe for Winkler winning Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. Each season of Barry has also been nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
