GKIDS announced the acquisition of the North American rights to ‘Look Back’, directed by Kiyotaka Oshiyama based on the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto of ‘Chainsaw Man’ fame.
‘Look Back’ will begin streaming in North America in theaters on October 4th.
Synopsis: Popular, outgoing Fujino is celebrated by her classmates for her funny comics in the class newspaper. One day, her teacher asks her to share the space with Kyomoto, a truant recluse whose beautiful artwork sparks a competitive fervor in Fujino. What starts as jealousy transforms when Fujino realizes their shared passion for drawing.
Kiyotaka Oshiyama founded Studio Durian and this film is his directorial debut. According to GKIDS, “Oshiyama is renowned for his character design on the CHAINSAW MAN anime and key animation on Studio Ghibli films including THE BOY AND THE HERON and THE WIND RISES.”
