According to an exclusive from The Hollywood Reporter, Amazon will release a substantially shorter 2nd season of A League of Their Own with a four episode season which will end the series. THR reports that negotiations between Amazon and Sony, who produced the series, led to the shortened show with the negotiations centered on the show’s licensing price. Likewise this led to new contracts with the cast as well.
A League of Their Own’s adapted from Penny Marshall’s 1992 film, which also follows the on-and-off the field lives of the ladies who play for the Rockford Peaches, one of the teams formed during WWII.

Season 2 of ‘A League of Their Own’ was created by Will Graham & Abbi Jacobson. In addition to Abbi Jacobson who also starred, the series features Abbi Jacobson, Chanté Adams, D’Arcy Carden, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Roberta Colindrez, Kelly McCormack, Priscilla Delgado, Molly Ephraim, Melanie Field, and Kate Berlant.
Season 1 of ‘A League of Their Own’ was twice as long with an eight episode run. Season 1 received praise for the queer centered narratives, and earned a 94% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes along with a 87% audience score.
