A Look Ahead: Season 2 of Netflix’s One Piece Updates

Netflix Geeked Week 2024 kicked off on September 16 with teasers on a variety of new shows and new seasons including Squid Game Season 2, Gyeonseong Creature Season 2, and Season 2 of Netflix’s live-action One Piece adaptation.

Previously One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda announced that Season 2 was well underway with production and that this season would cover Loguetown, Reverse Mountain (Twin Cape), Whiskey Peak, Little Garden and Drum Island.

Matt Owens, co-showrunner, writer, and exeuctive producer, also teased that Dr. Kureha would be an integral part of Season 2. Ownes also teased fans would at last meet Chopper, a fan favorite from the manga.

Netflix also previously announced several new cast members that will be joining for season 2, and they’ve since updated Joe Manganiello will play Mr. O and Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday aka Nico Robin:

  • Callum Kerr as Smoker
  • Julia Rehwald as Tashigi
  • Rob Colletti as Wapol
  • Ty Keogh as Dalton

(Manganiello and Abova’s inclusion in the announcement has since been removed, suggesting it will be announced during Geeked Week’s live-event in Atlanta.)

The cast will be joined once again by Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, Taz Skylar and others.

Jeff Ward, who will return as Buggy, also invited fans to join him on a tour of the production for Season 2.

Netflix Geeked Week will host an in-person event in Atlanta on Thursday, September 19th at The Eastern that will also be streamed live on their YouTube channel at 7:30pm EST, and we will share any updates announced from the event as they are released.
