Simon & Schuster has announced a forthcoming book titled ‘The Mysteries’ by beloved Calvin and Hobbes cartoonist Bill Watterson, and illustrated by John Kascht, that is written to be a “fable for grown-ups”. The premise according to Simon & Schulster is that “a long-ago kingdom is afflicted with unexplainable calamities. Hoping to end the torment, the king dispatches his knights to discover the source of the mysterious events. Years later, a single battered knight returns.”
Bill Watterson created the Calvin and Hobbes cartoon strips, which remains one of the most popular and indelible comics of the 20th century. Watterson retired from creating the series in 1995.
‘The Mysteries’ is set to be released by Andrews McMeel Publishing on October 10, 2023.
