Danielle, one of the founding members of NewJeans, addressed fans directly for the first time since her contract termination, holding a brief but emotional live broadcast on January 12 at 7 p.m. KST. The livestream followed speculation after a newly created Instagram and YouTube account under the name Dazzibelle posted a message reading “for those who waited.”

The account, which initially followed only Olivia Marsh, led many fans to suspect it belonged to Danielle. That speculation was later confirmed when her legal representatives, Law Firm HwaWoo LLC, announced that Danielle would be speaking to fans, while clarifying that she would not be discussing the ongoing litigation. Korea Esquire also released a statement confirming the live broadcast.

The livestream itself lasted just under ten minutes, but its emotional impact was immediate. Appearing visibly tearful at several points, Danielle opened by acknowledging the unfamiliarity of the moment.

“Greeting you like this… it feels a little unfamiliar, and it quietly touches my heart.”

She thanked fans — known as Bunnies — for their continued support, emphasizing that their messages had reached her even during periods of silence.

“Sometimes, late at night, I would read the letters and the messages you sent me… The warmth of them stayed with me for a long while.”

Throughout the broadcast, Danielle reflected on how the past months had changed her. She spoke of learning to be still, of traveling, listening, and reconnecting with herself away from the stage — a quiet contrast to the intense public scrutiny surrounding the dispute.

Despite this distance, her connection to fans and to NewJeans remained central to her message. Recalling performances, she described the moments just before the music began, and the feeling of connection that lingered even after it ended.

“Even if the music stopped, the feeling of our hearts remaining connected… Those memories quietly keep me going.”

One of the most poignant moments of the live came when Danielle addressed her efforts to remain with the group amid the dispute.

“I fought until the very end to be together with the members, and that truth stays with me.”

She added that, regardless of circumstances, NewJeans continues to exist in her heart.

“In a part of my heart, always, ‘NewJeans’ will exist.”

While Danielle avoided discussing legal specifics, she acknowledged the unresolved nature of the situation and assured fans that she would speak more openly when the time is right.

“When the time comes, I will update you all about what’s happening — about the lawsuit, and about all the things that you’re curious about.”

She framed the moment not as a farewell, but as a turning point.

“This is not the end. It’s the beginning.”

As of this writing, no date has been announced for the first court hearing. Haerin, Hyein, and Hanni are the only members confirmed to have returned to activities, while Minji’s contract discussions remain ongoing.

Danielle closed the broadcast by wishing fans health, softness, and light — and by promising to move forward sincerely, whether through music, silence, or small shared moments.

“The love Bunnies gave me, I’ll repay slowly, in the way I know how to.”
