First Court Date Set in ADOR’s Lawsuit in NewJeans Dispute

NewJeans

As reported by CBS Nocut News, the first court date for ADOR’s lawsuit to enforce its contract with NewJeans is set for April 3. NewJeans previously terminated their contract after a 14-day period requesting changes, which began on November 13. They declared the contract null after they determined ADOR made no effort to rectify the situation.

This dispute traces back to HYBE’s internal investigation into former CEO Min Hee-jin in April 2024, which led to her removal by the board. The members—Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Hyein, and Haerin—have remained steadfast in their support of Min Hee-jin.

On their new Instagram account jeanzforfree, run by the members, NewJeans recently reaffirmed their intent to never return to ADOR.

In a statement, they said:

“Now, ADOR and HYBE are pressuring us to return, claiming we could avoid public criticism. However, they have continuously harassed and attacked us behind the scenes. Recently, they even tried to mislead our parents by providing false and distorted information to force us to withdraw our claims. They are not seeking an honest resolution but are instead attempting to harm us in every way possible, including media manipulation and misinformation campaigns.”

At the end of January, the parents of the NewJeans members created their own Instagram account jeanz_pr in an effort to communicate their and the group’s position:

“Since there has been no official channel to communicate our position, we have repeatedly tried to share the facts through direct interviews with various media outlets or by reaching out to journalists we were able to connect with.”
