GKIDS announced in a press release today that SPRITED AWAY: Live on Stage, a theatrical adaptation of Miyzaki’s classic Spirited Away film, will be coming to theatres in the U.S. this Spring.
Each night’s screening will feature one of the two main casts for the play. The play was filmed at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo. SPIRITED AWAY: Live on Stage was adapted & directed by Tony Award-winner John Caird.
The lead Chihiro is played by both Kanna Hashimoto & Mone Kamishiraishi in each respective production. Additionally Mari Natsuki, the voice of sorceress Yubaba and Zeniba in the anime, reprised her roles in the stage adaptation.
