James Cameron Breathes Life Into ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ Sequels Hope

A profile on James Cameron and his family’s move in Forbes has breathed new life into the hope of not just one but multiple ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ sequels. In the Forbes article, Cameron spoke of the need to work in Austin saying “On the new Alita: Battle Angel films, I’ll be working in Austin, so it just didn’t make sense for us anymore.”

James Cameron’s 2019 film ‘Alita: Battle Angel’ is adapted from Yukito Kishiro’s manga series ‘Battle Angel Alita’. Cameron initially confirmed he was working on the ‘Battle Angel Alita’ adaptation in 2003, though after focusing on the Avatar franchise he relinquished directorial duties to Robert Rodriguez. Cameron did produce and co-write the screenplay alongside Laeta Kalogridis.

Despite Alita: Battle Angel’s success at the box office there had been little confirmed information regarding a sequel.
