Netflix announced that Linda Hamilton (Terminator, Children of the Corn, Chuck) would be joining the Stranger Things cast for Season 5. This was one of a series of announcements made at Netflix’s Tudum live-event hosted in São Paulo, Brazil on June 17 and livestreamed across the world.

Hamilton’s addition is similar to that of Winona Ryder, and in particular Sean Astin, who had culturally significant roles in the 80s especially duing which time the Stranger Things show is set.
Stranger Things is one of a number of shows that are delayed presently due to the writers strike, so there is no official release date as of yet.
