Netflix released a video at 1pm PST/4pm EST featuring the creator of One Piece Eiichiro Oda, who thanked everyone who enjoyed the show worldwide and announced that Netflix will be renewing the show for season 2.
Oda mentioned that the scripts will still need to be written, but he teased the need for a doctor for the Straw Hat Crew and ended the video with a drawing of the character Tony Tony Chopper.

One Piece, written and illustrated by Eiichiro Oda, began as a manga series in 1997 in Shonen Jump. Since then One Piece has broken many records for sales over the years, and remains one of if not the most popular series in Japan.
Iñaki Godoy stars as Luffy, leader of the Straw Hats, who is joined by Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
Netflix’s new ONE PIECE adaptation is created in partnership with Shueisha and produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix. Matt Owens and Steven Maeda are writers, executive producers and showrunners. Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements also executive produce.
