As part of Netflix’s Tudum live-event hosted in São Paulo, Brazil on June 17, simultaneously livestreamed across the world, Netflix introduced a number of new series, films and casts. One of the notable announcements of many was the introduction of the live-action cast of their upcoming adaptation of Eiichiro Oda bestselling manga phenomenon One Piece.
Netflix released teaser photos of the new ‘ONE PIECE’ cast and series as well as an official teaser trailer. ONE PIECE will premiere on August 31st on Netflix.
Iñaki Godoy stars as Luffy, leader of the Straw Hats, who is joined by Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Emily Rudd as Nami, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp and Taz Skylar as Sanji.
Netflix’s new ONE PIECE adaptation is created in partnership with Shueisha and produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix. Matt Owens and Steven Maeda are writers, executive producers and showrunners. Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements also executive produce.
