The much anticipated ‘Power Rangers: Once and Always’ trailer has dropped. In it the Rangers have to confront Rita Repulsa, one of the original foes of the series, who’s gained the ability to go back in time and kill the rangers before they get their powers. There’s also a nod to actress Thuy Trang (Trini Kwan), one of the original rangers who tragically passed away in 2001, with the introduction of Minh Kwan (Trini Kwan’s daughter) played by Charlie Kersh.
The special will premiere on Netflix on April 19th. Earlier Netflix released new art for the 30th anniversary Power Rangers special.
In the trailer, we have many actors who are veterans of the franchise returning, including David Yost (Billy), Walter Jones (Zack), Karan Ashley (Aisha), Catherine Sutherland (Kat), Johnny Yong Bosch (Adam), and Steve Cardenas (Rocky).
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers premiered in the United States in 1993 on Fox Kids. Power Rangers is based on the Japanese tokusatsu franchise Super Sentai. Originally the franchise was produced by Saban Entertainment, and now is produced by SCG Power Rangers LLC and its parent company Hasbro. The original series blended footage from the original Japanese Super Sentai Series, produced by Toei Company, with footage shot in America featuring American actors.
