Following the successful first season of Netflix’s spy thriller Black Doves—starring Keira Knightley alongside Ben Whishaw, Andrew Buchan, and Sarah Lancashire—production has officially begun in London on Season 2. The new chapter returns viewers to the shadowy, high-stakes world of espionage, where allegiances shift and danger lurks behind every whispered secret.
Synopsis of Black Doves Season 2:
When Helen’s enigmatic handler, Mrs. Reed (Sarah Lancashire), becomes entangled in a ruthless scheme to undermine her standing within the Black Doves organization, Helen is unexpectedly reunited with her closest friend, Sam (Ben Whishaw). Once a refined, elite triggerman, Sam now drifts through Soho’s late-night bars, taking low-level contracts far beneath his former stature. As the pair dig for answers, loyalties become weapons, trust dissolves, and the fight to protect those they love may demand the ultimate price.

Black Doves is created, written, and executive produced by Joe Barton. Directing duties will be shared by Julian Farino (Amadeus, Giri/Haji) and Kieron Hawkes (Red Eye, Fortitude).
