Netflix released the official trailer for the forthcoming film ‘Society of the Snow’, which dramatizes the plight of the survivors of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 who were stranded in the Andes mountains. The film has been selected as Spain’s Oscars® 2024 submission.
‘Society of Snow’ will have a limited theatrical release in December, and will be released on Netflix on on January 4th.
Synopsis: On October 13 1972, Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 crashed in the Andes. Only 29 of the 45 passengers survived the crash. Based on this remarkable true story, J.A. Bayona’s ‘Society of the snow’ will close the Venice Film Festival, participate in the Perlas section of the San Sebastian Film Festival and will arrive on Netflix soon.
‘Society of the Snow’ is directed by J.A. Bayona and stars Enzo Vogrincic, Matías Recalt, Agustín Pardella, Esteban Kukuriczka, and Tomas Wolf.
