Synopsis of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2

Season two will pick up with the fate of Monarch — and the world — hanging in the balance. The dramatic saga reveals buried secrets that reunite our heroes (and villains) on Kong’s Skull Island, and a new, mysterious village where a mythical Titan rises from the sea. The ripple effects of the past make waves in the present day, blurring the bonds between family, friend and foe — all with the threat of a Titan event on the horizon.

Production

The new season is produced by Legendary Television for Apple TV+, with Chris Black serving as showrunner. Executive producers include Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures, along with Chris Black, Jen Roskind, Matt Shakman, Lawrence Trilling, and Andrew Colville. Trilling directs four episodes this season, while Colville contributes as both writer and executive producer for two installments. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita executive produce on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., the longtime owner of the Godzilla character. The series continues under Apple TV+’s multi-series partnership with Legendary Entertainment, which encompasses Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and additional Monsterverse spinoffs currently in development.
