According to a new exclusive from the Wall Street Journal, Warner Bros. is planning to keep Discovery+ after all despite an earlier announcement they would consolidate HBO Max and Discovery+. This is an attempt to retain the subscribers Discover+ has presently, who are paying a lower price point than HBO Max subscribers. The WSJ says that Warner Bros. Discover Inc. plans to keep Discovery+ as a standalone option, while HBO Max will then include HBO Max shows along with most Discovery+ content.
Warner Bros. is still planning to announce a new streaming platform which they hope will stand apart in the ever crowded landscape of streaming.
