CEO Ken Sasaki of VIZ Media announced in a short video on May 9th the introduction of a new subscription service and app called ‘VIZ Manga’, which will feature a wide variety of titles, same-day English language publishing for some titles aka ‘simulpub’, along with free-to-read access for the latest ‘simulpub’ chapters for all VIZ Manga app users. This service is now live as of this publish date.
Sasaki mentioned some of the titles that are already featured on the VIZ Manga app include: Komi Can’t Communicate, Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead, Alice in Borderland, Ranma 1/2, InuYasha, Yasashime, Junji Ito’s Uzamaki, alongside other of Ito’s works, Call of the Night and NANA. Likewise he promises the inclusion of many more titles in the future.
