Paramount Plus released a teaser video announcing the return of School Spirtis, their YA drama series centered on the disappearance of Maddie Nears, who must investigate her own case as a ghost.
As a ghost she discovers a new class of fellow spirits that haunt the halls of her high school, and she bonds together with them as she tries to find her place between life and death.
‘School Spirits’ is based on the based on the upcoming graphic novel by Nate Trinrud & Megan Trinrud, and Maria Nguyen, which is scheduled for publication in 2024 by Clarion Books/HarperAlley.
Domenic DiMeglio, chief marketing officer and head of data at Paramount Streaming, attributes the renewal to School Spirits ability to develop “such a passionate and engaged fan base over the course of its first season, marking one of our most popular new young adult series to date.”
In our Last Looks review of ‘School Spirits’ Season 1, we gave the show a positive review citing its ability to suprise till the end even within the framework of such a familiar setting as a high school drama.
