Wes Anderson’s trailer for ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’ has been released, teasing an Andersonian take on Roald Dahl’s ‘The Wonderful World of Henry Sugar and Six More’ collection of short stories. In addition to Anderson’s adaptation of ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’, Netflix will also release three other Dahl adaptations by Anderson. Anderson’s first adaptation of Dahl’s work was ‘The Fantastic Mr. Fox’ which was released in 2009.
‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’ will be released exclusively on Netflix on September 27th with each of the three additional short films released on the following day.
Benedict Cumberbatch stars as the titular Henry Sugar, alongside a cast of Anderson regulars and new cast members alike including Ralph Fiennes, Dev Patel, Ben Kingsley, Rupert Friend, and Richard Ayoade.
Synopsis: A beloved Roald Dahl story about a rich man who learns about a guru who can see without using his eyes and then sets out to master the skill in order to cheat at gambling.
Wes Anderson will also be releasing three other short Dahl adaptations on Netflix, including The Swan, The Rat Catcher, and Poison. Each will be released on a subsequent day following the release of ‘The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar’ on September 27th.
The Swan
Synopsis: A young adult Roald Dahl short story about a small/brilliant boy ruthlessly pursued by two large/idiotic bullies.
