It’s been widely reported that Norman Lear has passed away at the age of 101 of natural causes in his Los Angeles home.
Norman Lear is konwn for his role creating and producing ennumarel popular shows including All in the Family, Maude, Sanford and Son, One Day at a Time, The Jeffersons, and Good Times.
Lear has received many awards in his lifetime, including six Primetime Emmys.
Lear has been closely tied with the boom of sitcoms beginning in the 1970s, which included many of his most beloved series including All in the Family and Maude. Lear’s work is noted as having portrayed American life in whole new manners of ways, often reflecting back the realities of everyday life for its viewers.
Lear’s work had recently been given new life with live portrayals of classic episodes, which included ‘Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family and The Jeffersons’, and ‘Live in Front of a Studio Audience: All in the Family and Diff’rent Strokes’, aired by ABC.
