Lucasfilm Nixes ‘The Acolyte’ After First Season

According to an exclusive by Deadline, ‘The Acolyte’ has been canceled after Season 1. Lucasfilm has decided not to go forth with the series, which followed a mystery involving Jedi deaths that took place at the end of the age of the High Republic.

The Acolyte was created by Lesly Headland, who also held the role as showrunner, executive producer, and writer.

The Acolyte premiered on June 4, 2024, and over 8 episodes garnered some critical praise but also was a target by fans divided over the series.

The cast included Amandla Stenberg, playing double roles as Osha and Mae, two twin sisters who were seperated. In addition to Stenberg, the cast also included Lee Jung-jae, Charlie Barnett, Dafne Keen, Rebecca Henderson, Jodie Turner-Smith, Carrie-Anne Moss, Manny Jacinto, Dean-Charles Chapman, Joonas Suotamo, Margarita Levieva, Harry Trevaldwyn, and David Harewood.
