AMC tweeted the first images from the forthcoming Walking Dead spin-off series The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon joins the ever expanding universe of The Walking Dead TV shows, which includes The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Tales of the Walking Dead, and Fear the Walking Dead, the latter of which will end its run in May 2023.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is being created by Angela Kang and Scott M. Gimple. Kang served as showrunner for the final three seasons of AMC’s The Walking Dead. Gimple served as showrunner for seasons 4 through 8. The series was originally written to follow Daryl and Carol Peletier, but after Melissa McBride was unavailable to shoot in Europe the series was transitioned into a solo show for Daryl.
